Freaky Friday

I love this! All my links, tutes, and games all in one spot! No more sending links to my home email addy. Now, if they give me a pink slip at work, I don't have to worry about never having access to all my carefully researched Internet findings again!

So to celebrate Friday, I'm going link each week to some of the neat games I've found over the years! I got this idea from Woot's 4 o'clock Flash Game on their WWWoundup.

Orisinal, by Ferry Halm, has 59 beautiful mini games you can play. I especially love "The Bottom of the Sea".

I love the Jumble in the newspaper, and Scrabble so I'm always playing Super Text Twist. You need to use all the letters to make it to the next round.

When some of my co-workers (who shall remain nameless) bug me, I turn to Cubicle Freak Out. Turn the sound on if you're at work.

Filler is a nice quiet game you can play at your desk. Check Kongregate for more cool games!

10 Gnomes may be confusing at first, but remember that you click on the lower portion of the picture to go back. Each month is a new game. Find all 10 gnomes (and you know how much I love gnomes!) to win!

Five more games next Friday, and best of all, I've cleaned out My Favorites!

People Craftier than Me

I am blessed, I'll admit it. Blessed with three cool kids. Blessed with a great husband. Blessed with good friends and family. Blessed with a job and a roof over my head. And blessed with some talent to create things with my hands. But as human nature goes, no matter what we're blessed with, we always covet things other people have. The thing I covet the most? To be as talented as the people I find on the Internet. I click everyday, and every day I find someone making something I wish I had the time/money/knowledge and the talent to make. Here are a few of my favorites:

JCaroline Creative She has great projects, great ideas as well as a store for ribbons, purse handles and fabric.

One Hour Craft :Lots of tutorials and tons of crafts to knock out in an hour!

RicRac :Tutorials- I especially like the one-hour bag!

Super Eggplant: I come across her alot while I surf the Internet. Check out Totebags 101!

Poopscape: Poopscape Projects has some cool Halloween projects I want to do!

Top Cross Stitch Sites: Lots and lots of links to free designs!

Circle of Crafters: Specifically the Irisfolding instuctions. You name it, they have patterns and links for it!

Frog Creek Cottage: Wonderful stories interspersed between great tutorials. I love the Gathering Apron!

Craft Leftovers: This very busy lady has a monthly packet of Crafty Things you can purchase. Also lots of Patterns in her Pattern Archive.

Posie Gets Cozy: Patterns, tutorials and TONS of crafty links.

Loopy Lace's Crazy Quilt Lessons: Someday, when I'm old and gray, I will make one of these with all the scraps I have from all the projects I've done!

Planet June's Shrink Plastic Ring Tutorial: Maybe for the girls for Christmas Presents next year?

And it goes without saying that I can spend hours and hours pouncing on Etsy!

Happy surfing!

Purses and Bags and Totes, oh my!

If any of my family finds this blog, the secret's out. They're all getting some sort of bag, purse or tote for Christmas presents! Now to decide who gets what- that's usually the hard part!

If I feel energetic, and have enough time, I'm including in each bag a keychain wristlet (search key wristlet on Etsy). Or, the one shown here is adorable, and much easier: http://creativelittledaisy.typepad.com/creative_little_daisy/2006/02/super_easy_keyc.html

Add to that the little no-cash wallet from Amy Karol from http://www.angrychicken.com/ and half my Christmas battle is done! The figuring out part, that is!

Greening My Life

I'm attempting to go green. And someday soon, go organic. But I need to twist my mind and habits to this concept. For example- I started writing down some of the websites I've found to help, and decided I needed a sturdier, cuter notebook to jot everything down in. I turn to my office supply catalog to see what's available. Then, when I realized what I did, I dropped the catalog like it was suddenly on fire! NO NO NO! Bad girl! I have tons of notebooks I can write in and carry them around.

But wait, my little brain cried! Do something even greener! How can you avoid writing this down and wasting paper altogether? I had just finished reading about Megan, from http://www.notmartha.org/, who started her blog to remember internet sites and projects she made- basically creating her blog for herself. Smart cookie! I'll do the same to keep my findings, thoughts and lists on the internet. And if anyone else finds it, and can benefit from it, good for me!

  • To limit the amount of catalogs mailed to your home, logon to http://www.catalogchoice.org/. Sign up, find the catalogs you're inundated with, and they'll contact the company with a no mail request!
  • If you hate Val-pak as much as I do, you can get their Opt Out mailing address from http://www.junkbusters.com/. This website provides a form letter you can personalize and print out for many of the obnoxious junk mailings you get everyday.
  • I need to get the Zombiegirl a new water bottle. Husband refills a used bottle every time she goes to play soccer. Beena and Biggz could benefit from the new, funky stainless steel water bottles from http://www.reusablebags.com/, too. The Siggs and the Klean Kanteens are perfect for taking to class. Perfect Christmas presents!
  • Since I took the batteries out of all my toys (more thoughts on that, later) I'm left with a ton of batteries. When they're all gone, which shouldn't take long in my house, I'm investing in these cheap, rechargeable batteries from http://www.greenbatteries.com/. And a charger for everyone. More Christmas presents!

I found all these links at http://www.biggreenpurse.com/. Lots of tips for shopping green, green living and the latest green news.
